The Pendleton District Commission Research
Room and Special Collections contains both primary and
secondary sources relating to the history of Anderson,
Oconee, and Pickens counties. Research materials include
local and family history books, genealogical reference
materials, cemetery surveys, photographs, and both family
and local history files that contain a variety of materials.
The archival collections include family and business records
from the tri-county area, historically known as the Pendleton
District.

| The Pendleton District Commission contains both a research
library and archival collection. Our archives and manuscripts
collections focus on the people and places of the Old Pendleton
District. The collections include correspondence, business
records, photographs, books, family bibles, scrapbooks and
personal items. Our artifact collections include textiles,
furniture and a variety of objects. |

| Pendleton District Commission Observed Holidays |
The Pendleton District Commission offices close on all South Carolina state holidays and, in the case of inclement weather, will close when driving conditions are dangerous within Anderson, Oconee, or Pickens Counties. Here is a list of our approved holidays*:
