Description:
"New Growth Works" began with Mike Vatalaro's fall, 2009, sabbatical research and travel in Taiwan at the Tainan University of the Arts. Vatalaro explains, "Sabbaticals allow one to restore and re-create the outlook and expression within one's life's work." New Growth reveals Vatalaro's continuing interest in wood-fired functional vessels as well as his new series of sculptural works that adress his interest in life's patterns of growth and adaptation. Lee Gallery is open to the public, free of charge, Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and selected Sundays.
